This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and disclose data when you use the Scriber bot & website (hereby known as Scriber Services). By using the Scriber Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
When you enable live transcription with Scriber in a Discord voice channel, Scriber Services will record the voices of the participants to transcribe the conversation into text. This recording process is necessary to provide accurate real-time transcription services. Scriber also logs usage of our services, this includes your Guild ID, User ID, the command/function of the bot you've used, and when this usage occurred.
2. Storage and Deletion of Recordings
We take your privacy seriously and understand the importance of safeguarding your personal information. Therefore, we retain the recorded voice data for a maximum duration of 10 hours after the recording was made. After this time, the recordings are automatically deleted from our servers and are not recoverable. If you wish to have your data deleted and excluded from our services permanently you can contact us using the email at the bottom of this document.
3. Access to Recordings
Access to the recorded voice data is strictly limited to our high-level engineering staff and is only granted when you explicitly provide us with permission to access the data. Such permission may be requested in cases where you encounter technical difficulties or require our assistance in debugging issues related to the transcription service. We adhere to stringent security measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your recordings.
4. Data Storage Location
Your data, including the recorded voice data, and temporary transcribed text, is stored in a datacenter in the United Kingdom.
5. Transcription Delivery
Once the transcription process is completed, the resulting text transcriptions are sent to a designated Discord channel. It is important to note that we do not store or retain these transcriptions on our servers. Therefore, the text transcriptions are not accessible to us once they have been delivered to the designated Discord channel. Refer to Discord's privacy policy on how they store messages.
6. Security Measures
We implement security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. Our transmission protocols employ TLS encryption, and we review our security procedures quarterly.
7. Updates to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will attempt to notify you of any significant changes by posting a prominent notice on our website or support server.
